Site history
79-161 Ilderton Road was a Victorian terrace backing onto the rail embankment but was cleared at some point in the 1960s. It has most recently been used as a location for commercial vehicle storage and selling. There have been no buildings on the site for many years.
In 2023 the site’s previous owners applied for a housing-led planning permission. This was granted full permission in September 2024 following a resolution to grant in November last year.
That previously consented application included:
- 120 affordable homes + 615 shared-living units
- 1064 habitable rooms
- over 40% affordable
- 3-26 storeys high
- The new application seeks to enhance the provision of affordable housing.
